Euro Auctions expands its US operation

Acquisition of a new permanent site in Houston, Texas, USA expands the Euro Auctions operation
Euro  Auctions, the UK’s and Ireland’s largest auctioneers of construction machinery and industrial equipment, continues its global expansion with the acquisition of a new auction site in Houston, Texas, securing a firm trading platform in the USA with easy access to Mexico and South America.

First Sale – 18th March 2016: The first full sale for 2016 is scheduled for 18th March 2016. This one day sale will see in excess of 300 lots of mixed earthmoving equipment and construction equipment go under the hammer and in true Euro Auctions style will seek interest from a global market. The new site covers five acres and is only four miles from William P Hobby Airport and 17 miles from the port of Houston.

“Euro Auctions conducted its first sale on this Houston, Texas USA site on the 4th December to gauge local and country wide interest. The results were very encouraging with a selection of cranes out performing expectation, as such we have now secured this site as our auction facility in Texas,” comments Jonnie Keys, General Manager of Euro Auctions. “The Texas region has long been seen as one of the most important in the USA and we feel it is good to have a presence in this area as we grow the Euro Auctions brand worldwide. This new site will also allow Euro Auctions to gain access to the Mexico and South American markets through the port of Houston.”

During the last 10 years, Euro Auctions has forged excellent trade links within the USA, building relationships with many of the international players in the used equipment and machinery markets. A pivotal move was the opening of Euro Auctions first permanent US auction site in Atlanta, Georgia, during June 2013, the foundation on which the whole development of the USA market for Euro Auctions was based. Today Euro Auctions has a large number of customers from North America, which the sites of Atlanta and Houston are now able to service, whilst creating new relationships with buyers and sellers across the USA.

Steve Watson, Country Manager for the USA added: “Euro Auctions has long aspired to expand within the USA market but plans have always hinged on finding suitable facilities from which to trade. With the acquisition of the new Euro Auctions, Atlanta site in 2013 and now the Houston site, we now have the unique opportunity to be located amongst the hub of the American equipment industry, which will be instrumental to the success of this venture.”

Euro Auctions has always worked closely with USA based auction companies and has a working relationship with some of the best auctioneers in America. This relationship is destined to continue and many visitors to the upcoming auction sale should recognise a few familiar faces.
